Fished a tournament on Badin Lake this past weekend 2-24-24 and boy are the crappie starting to bite. Heavy weights were produced and even a 3-pound crappie was brought to the scales. The crappie are in all stages right now with the majority of them still at the mouths of pockets over 25ft of water preparing to move up. With the warm weather heading in many of the crappie are going to be pulling up to spawn, watch the moon phase. There was a few already staging shallow but not the large waves of crappies yet. My partner and I had 14.55 in 7 crappie for 3rd place!!! Also in the Yadkin River Crappie Trail there was 5 bags over 14lbs. Fisherman it's about to be on!!!!
